A cosmetic composition comprising the extract of Forsythia Fruit is provided to reduce side effects on the skin, improve effects on antioxidation, cell growth promotion and collagen synthesis and inhibit collagenase expression, so that it is useful for improving skin wrinkles. A cosmetic composition for improving skin wrinkles comprises the extract of Forsythia Fruit, or 0.001-10 wt.% of matairesinol, arctigenin or a mixture thereof which is obtained by extracting Forsythia Fruit with ethanol, fractionating the ethanol extract with n-hexane, ether and n-butanol, and subjecting the ether and n-butanol fractions to the column chromatography, and has a formulation selected from cosmetic lotion, essence, skin, lotion, pack, foundation and makeup base.
