A device for discharging residual water in a washing machine is provided to regulate the internal pressure of a case by installing an internal pressure change device inside the case and a valve unit, thereby completely removing the undrained water remaining in the drain pipe. A device for discharging the undrained water has a discharge pipe(34) installed between one end of a case(20) and a drain pipe(16). An inlet pipe(32) is installed between a pump and the discharge pipe. A pressure change device(50) is installed inside the case. The pressure change device includes a piston(52), a driving shaft(54), a driving unit(56), and a valve unit(58). The piston is capable of sliding inside the case. The driving shaft extends out of the case and has one end fixed to the piston. The driving unit projects the driving shaft out of the case when electric power is applied, and drives the driving shaft into the case at a preset speed when the electric power is cut off. When the piston is slid to one side of the case to decrease the internal pressure of the case, the valve unit opens the inlet pipe, and when the piston is slid to the other side of the case to increase the internal pressure of the case, the valve unit opens the discharge pipe. The driving unit includes a synchronous motor(56a) combined to the driving shaft, and an elastic body(56b) interposed between an outer end of the driving shaft and an outer wall of the case. The valve unit includes a first blocking panel(58a) installed on one side of the inlet pipe, and a second blocking panel(58b) installed on one side of the discharge pipe. |
