A backlight unit for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device is provided to form a pattern for diffusing the light of an LED(Light Emitting Diode) light source in a light guide plate, thereby preventing the deterioration of display quality and having strong resistance against impact and vibration. A backlight unit for an LCD device comprises a point light source, an light incident portion(A), and a light guide plate(62). The point light source radiates light to an LCD panel. The light incident portion has a light diffusing portion(30) for diffusing the light emitted from the point light source. The light guide plate has a light radiating portion(B) for radiating the light received through the light incident portion to the LCD panel. |
