<p>An information recording apparatus is provided to prevent a retracting mechanism from interfering with an optical injection unit by integrating the optical injection unit and the head retracting mechanism. An information recording apparatus comprises an arm(1) with a head(2), and an integrated optical-injection and head-retraction unit(3). The head of the arm includes a laser scanning unit. The head retracting unit, which includes an optical injection unit(4) and a head retracting unit(6), controls the arm to record information on a recording medium and retracts the head out of the recording medium in an unload state where no recording is made on the recording medium.</p> |
