VERIFICATION METHOD AND VERIFIER

A verification method and a verifier are provided to verify whether a recording and reproducing apparatus generates disk management information properly and records the disk management information on a disk properly by generating temporary defect management information as test information on a blank test disk and utilizing the test information as reference test information. A verification method includes the steps of: carrying out a recording test, which is commanded by a record module included in a verifier, on a blank test disk according to a scenario and generating temporary defect management information as test information; and utilizing the test information as reference test information for the recording test and providing a test result. The test information includes approach temporary disk management area information. The reference test information includes TDMA(Temporary Disk Management Area) and ATDMA(Approach Temporary Disk Management Area) which are predicted to be generated when a series of recording are carried out on the blank test disk.
