A mother glass for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display), an LCD using the same and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent screen sport generated during a photo process for manufacturing the LCD, thereby preventing CD(Critical Dimension) deviation and brightness non-uniformity. A mother glass(500) for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) comprises plural cell areas(520), a dummy area(530) except the plural cell areas, and a passivation layer(540). In the plural cell areas, a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) array is formed. The passivation layer is covered on the front including the plural cell areas and the dummy area. In the plural cell areas formed on the same line of a horizontal direction, an opening having a stepped surface along an edge is formed to separate cell areas of a horizontal direction from each other.
