A video compressing method is provided to compare a previous frame and a current frame by line, not by pixel, overlay a spectrum of each line, and compress only a changed portion. When a storage or transmission command is inputted by a user, a video manufacturer or a video provider(S100), a line extracting unit determines a reference frame and a comparison frame with respect to each frame of video inputted from an external source, reads the reference frame, and reads the comparison frame(S110). The line extracting unit generates a spectrum of each line with respect to the read reference frame and the comparison frame(S120). When the spectrum of each line is inputted to a line comparing unit, the line comparing unit overlays the generated spectrums of the respective lines(S130). A controller checks whether a portion has been changed by using values inputted from the line comparing unit(S140), and determines whether a changed portion exists(S150). When a changed portion exists, the controller compresses data of the changed portion to obtain compressed data(S160). |
