摘要

An LCD device is provided to generate transition nucleus by generating electric field concentration, thereby performing completely spray-bend transition and obtaining a satisfactory image without dot defect. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device comprises a first electrode(9), a second electrode(6), and a drive unit. The first electrode is formed on one of a pair of substrates. The second electrode is disposed between the first electrode and a liquid crystal layer. The drive unit performs an initialization process by generating a potential difference between the first electrode and the second electrode. The two facing end portions of the second electrode are separately overlapped with the first electrode through an insulator.
