An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device is provided to compensate brightness and chromaticity components of pixel data according to a biasedly distributed gradation area and the biased distribution amount, thereby realizing clearly the color of an image and improving image quality. An LCD device comprises an LCD panel(10), a data driver(14), an input unit, and a gradation distribution adaptive compensating unit(18). The data driver supplies pixel driving signals which pixels on the LCD panel inputs one by one for a line. The input unit inputs video data. The gradation distribution adaptive compensating unit accentuates brightness components and chromaticity components of the video data to be supplied to the data driver from the input unit according to a distributed gradation area and a biased distribution chart to supply the accentuated video data to the data driver. |
