PANEL DRIVING APPARATUS FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

An apparatus for driving a liquid crystal panel of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device is provided to enhance image quality by supplying compensated voltages to the liquid crystal panel according to comparison between current detected by a current detector and current consumption caused by a gamma scale based on a lookup table. An apparatus for driving a liquid crystal panel of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a buffer(220), a current detector(230), and a data driver(210). The buffer stores gamma voltages required for a data driver. The current detector measures the current consumption according to a gamma scale on the gamma voltages and delivers the measured result to the data driver. The data driver compares current detected by a current detector with current consumption matching information caused by a gamma scale stored in a look-up table when gamma voltages are supplied to the liquid crystal panel, and selects compensated gamma voltages based on the comparison result.
