An expansion joint device for a railroad bridge is provided to extend service life by coupling a support and an upper waterproof plate easily and completely, sealing up a space between a support and a concrete barrier for a bridge with an expandable seal and protecting an upper waterproof plate from sunlight using an aluminum cover plate. An expansion joint device for a railroad bridge is formed by installing a joint gap(1) of a railroad bridge and coupling a joint of an upper waterproof plate(20) made of rubber to a coupling groove of a support(10) fixed to a concrete barrier(2) for a bridge, wherein the support fixed to the concrete barrier for a bridge is provided with a seating groove and a separation preventive projection at the top and a W-shaped coupling groove at the bottom, an expandable seal(14) is formed between the support and the concrete barrier for a bridge and expanded by water to cut off the inflow of water, and the upper waterproof plate is provided with a seating portion placed in the seating groove of the support, a separation preventive portion coupled with the separation preventive projection, a W-shaped joint coupled to the coupling groove of the support and an aluminum cover plate formed t prevent the upper waterproof plate from being deteriorated or damaged by sunlight.
