A method and an apparatus for partitioning a screen as receiving broadcasting signals by using a portable terminal are provided to display both of a mobile multimedia broadcasting screen and an image communication transceiving screen as continuously receiving the mobile multimedia broadcasting if an image communication call is set during reception of the mobile multimedia broadcasting. In a method for partitioning a screen as receiving broadcasting signals by using a portable terminal having an image communication function, the method comprises the following steps of: receiving and displaying the broadcast signals(S203); receiving an image communication call(S205); inputting an image communication reception confirm key(S207); partitioning the screen of a display of the portable terminal and changing a voice signal transmission path(S213); determining whether text conversation is performed between image speakers(S215); terminating the image communication(S223); and restoring the screen size of the portable terminal display and re-changing the voice signal transmission path(S225).
