An optical information storage medium and a method of reproducing/recording information from/onto the same are provided to reproduce data on the storage medium continuously without problems by forming transition areas among areas formed on the storage medium. An optical information storage medium includes a BCA(10), a lead-in area(20), a user data area, a lead-out area, and a transition area(15). The lead-in area includes first and second areas having different track pitches. The track pitch of the user data area is equal to the second area. The track pitch of the lead-out area is equal to the second area. The transition area is formed between the first area and the second area. A method of reproducing/recording information from/onto the optical information storage medium includes the steps of: reproducing data recorded in the first area of the lead-in area; and reproducing data recorded in one among the second area of the lead-in area, the user data area, and the lead-out area. The track pitch of the first area is greater than the track pitch of the second area.
