An array substrate for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture an LC panel of high image quality by removing generation of wavy noise by implementing a structure where only an active layer of an island shape is present in a TFT(Thin Film Transistor). In a substrate(100), a pixel area, a switching area, a gate area and a data area are defined. A TFT positioned in the switching area comprises an ohmic contact layer, a first source electrode(136) and a first drain electrode, and a second source electrode(154) and a second drain electrode(156). The ohmic contact layer is spaced from a gate electrode(118), a first insulating layer and an active layer. The first source and drain electrodes are respectively contacted with the ohmic contact layer. The second source and drain electrodes are respectively contacted with the first source and drain electrode. Data lines(164) are disposed in the data area, include a data pad(166) in its one end, and are configured according as a transparent electrode layer and an obscure electrode layer are laminated. Gate lines(130) are disposed in the gate area. In one end of the gate line, a gate pad(132) contacted with a gate pad electrode(160) where the transparent electrode layer and the obscure electrode layer are laminated is configured. A transparent pixel electrode(158) is disposed in the pixel area and contacted with the second drain electrode. |
