A dual view display device and a method for driving the same are provided to control a viewing angle using a switching panel in a single view mode, thereby realizing the switch between a wide viewing angle mode and a narrow viewing angle mode. A display panel is configured to display an image. A switching panel(80) controls a liquid crystal layer(40) to realize the switch between a dual view mode and a single view mode. In the dual view mode, the image displayed on the display panel is separated in different directions. In the single view mode, the image displayed on the display panel is just transmitted. The switching panel controls a viewing angle in the single view mode by controlling the liquid crystal layer. |
