A hermetic compressor is provided to form discharge holes for discharging oil and refrigerant gas to cool a driving unit generating heat to improve the compression efficiency of the compressor. A hermetic compressor has a hermetic container. A compressing device is installed in the hermetic compressor and has a compression chamber for compressing a refrigerant. A driving unit has a stator and a rotator for driving the compressing device. A suction muffler(50) is installed on a passage connecting to the compression chamber to reduce a flow noise of a refrigerant sucked into the compression chamber. A plurality of discharge holes(60) are formed to discharge oil collected in the suction muffler and a part of low-temperature refrigerant gas sucked into the suction muffler to the driving unit.
