TOUCH SCREEN SYSTEM USING FREQUENCY SENSING AND FLAT PANEL DISPLAY HAVING THE SAME

A touch screen system using a frequency detecting mode and a flat panel display equipped with the same are provided to apply to various applications by removing space limitation for using a touch screen, as a touch point is detected in a contactless mode by measuring a frequency change of an ultrasonic wave. A signal generator(200) is arranged on a substrate and generates a first signal having a predetermined frequency. A wireless touch part(400) generates/outputs a second signal having a frequency different from the first signal to detect a position on the substrate. A signal receiver(300) is arranged on the substrate in a direction opposite to the signal generator and receives the signal transferred through the substrate. A controller(500) detects the touch point of the substrate by measuring the frequency change of the signal received by the signal receiver. The first signal and the second signal are the ultrasonic wave. An ultrasonic wave spreading layer for spreading the ultrasonic wave is formed on the substrate.
