Manufacture of Bagasse Powder

Sugarcane bagasse can be treated to provide bagasse powder that has multiple uses in the food and non-food industrie. The process comprises treating bagasse with steam under pressure and heat followed by drying the treated bagasse to form the bagasse powder. The treatment step breaks up the tough bagasse fibres into soluble and insoluble fibres.
