A payment system using a telephone number and a method thereof are provided to perform a payment by generating a receiving call only by obtaining a pool of a customer authentication number and creating a random customer authentication telephone number. A payment telephone number pool for customer authentication is obtained from an intelligent network number. If a user requests a payment, a specific payment telephone number is extracted from the payment telephone number pool and assigned to the user. If a receiving call is generated from the payment telephone number, an intelligent network system(32) performs the payment to a charging telephone number about the payment telephone number. A subscriber information database(36) stores the payment telephone number which is assigned to the user, the charging telephone number and payment amount information. |
