COLOR FILTER SUBSTRATE FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND FABRICATING METHOD THEREOF

A color filter substrate for an LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to position ball spacers and column spacers alternately to suppress gravity defect and touch defect effectively, thereby preventing the light leakage due to movement of the spacers. A black matrix(201-207) is formed on a transparent insulating substrate(100) to define pixel regions. Color filters(301-306) are formed within the pixel regions. An overcoat layer(400) is formed on the black matrix and the color filters. Column spacers(510,520) are formed on the overcoat layer. Ball spacers(610,620,630) are disposed on grooves(401,402,403) of the overcoat layer. The column spacers and the ball spacers are alternately positioned.
