A chair assembly is provided to realize multistage tilting, free tilting and tilting lock at the same time through a tilting limit function and a tilting lock function to a certain degree. A chair assembly includes a tilting limit mechanism which comprises: a limit lever(6) axially installed at the front end of a lower case(3), four stop grooves formed at one side of a cylinder(65) of the limit lever; an elastic piece inserted into a recess groove of the lower case to be coupled to one of the stop grooves; a 4th spur gear(72) rotatably installed at one side of the cylinder; a rotating body(74) axially installed at the lower case; a 5th spur gear(74) engaged with the 4th spur gear; a through-hole formed at right angles to an axis of the rotating body; and a multistage inclined part formed between flanges.
