The device has a card carrier part for accommodating a card to be read, and comprising an insertion area for inserting the card. A support and guide area (21) is arranged at the carrier part adjacent to the insertion area, and a rotatably supported insertion closing part (3) is provided for closing the insertion area. The closing part rests against an inner side of the support and guide area in a closed condition of the insertion area, where the area (21) is designed as a lateral limitation area of the insertion area. An independent claim is also included for a method for inserting and processing a card to be read. |
