MANAGING SUBSCRIBER CONNECTIONS BETWEEN AT LEAST TWO TYPES OF WIRELESS NETWORKS

<p>Methods a wireless system managing subscriber handoff from a first type wireless network to a second type of wireless network are disclosed. The method includes the subscriber communicating with a first type of wireless network. The subscriber negotiates a mode with the first type of wireless network establishing a period of time in which the first type of wireless network does not wirelessly transmit data to the subscriber. The subscriber monitors communication with a second type of wireless network during the established period of time.</p>
