A device and a method for downloading user GUI(Graphic User Interface) data are provided to display a GUI customized to a user by downloading the user GUI data, which is edited and made by the user, to a display device through RF(Radio Frequency) communication. A GUI graphic server(1) enables the user to edit and make the GUI graphic data. A computer(10) stores the GUI graphic data by connecting to the server through the Internet. A remote controller(40) downloads/stores the GUI graphic data stored in the computer and transmits the downloaded GUI graphic data to the display device(50) through the RF communication. The display device stores the GUI data received from the remote controller and displays the GUI graphic data by setting the received GUI graphic data to a GUI graphic environment of the display part. The wireless communication uses a frequency in a wide or ultra wide band range.
