A color wheel cooling structure in a projection system is provided to forcibly suck and circulate external air by installing a pan in a rear side of a light tunnel housing of an optical engine, so that an inside of a color wheel and the optical engine can be quickly and efficiently cooled, and accordingly the projection system can be stably operated. A color wheel cooling structure in a projection system comprises a color wheel assembly, a housing and a cooling pan(43). In one side of the housing, the color wheel assembly is received. In the other side of the housing, a cooling path(232) is formed. The cooling pan is coupled with one side of the housing so that air can be flowed into the cooling path. In the housing, a partition for partitioning the color wheel assembly receiving part and the cooling path is formed. A heat-radiating fin is formed in the cooling path to enlarge an area contacting with air.
