A medical stapler has a stapler body (1) provided at one end with a head (3) for ejecting a medical staple (S) and also has an operation lever provided so as to be opened and closed by its rotation with the head (3) side received in a reception section (8) of the stapler body (1). The head (3) of the operation lever (2) and a grip section (11) on the opposite side are usually urged in an opening direction in which they protrude from the reception section (8). In ejecting the staple (S), the operation lever (2) is rotated in a closing direction in which it is received in the reception section (8), ejecting the staple (S) from the head (3) to stick the staple into a skin (a). Then, both needle points of the staple (S) are bent inward to close and suture a wound. After the suturing is completed, the operation lever (2) is engaged with the stapler body (1) with the stapler rotated in the closing direction in which the staple (S) is bent.
