A backlight assembly for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device is provided to fix stably a U-shaped lamp by using a plate supporting the lamp and reduce the material cost in manufacturing the backlight assembly for the LCD device as a lamp holder for sound vibration prevention is not used and improve workability. A backlight assembly for an LCD device comprises a lamp(430), a lamp housing(410), a side joining member(420), and a lamp support member(422,423). The lamp is a U shape and more than at least one. The lamp is set in the lamp housing. The side joining member is fastened to the lamp housing and forms an insertion portion(421) capable of inserting the lamp. The lamp support member supports and fixes the lamp within the insertion portion of the side joining member.
