METHOD OF MANAGING REQUESTS FOR REMOTE ACCESS TO MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS

A request management method for remotely accessing to multimedia contents is provided to use a data stream whose variable throughput is encoded, therefore optimal management of bandwidth usage of a transmission network can be carried out. Data streams are inserted into a set of data streams transmitted on a distributive network in an immediate or delayed way as functions of capacity threshold values(Br1) of a network. Each data stream is in variable throughput type having data throughput profiles{Rn(t)} whose width(Tn) corresponds to transmission time of the streams. Request management includes verification that network capacities are not excessive in the width(Tn) of the profiles{Rn(t)}, as a function of a given insertion instant of a throughput{S(t)} of the streams or ongoing data streams in the distributive network.
