A mattress comprising a bedding substrate upon which an array of stones are arranged each in pockets formed from netting laid out atop the substrate. The disc-shaped stones are selected from gauss, germanium, tourmaline and jade. A preferred arrangement includes a longitudinal array of germanium stones flanked along the sides of the germanium array by symmetrical longitudinal arrangements of tourmaline and jade stones. Low frequency electromagnetic generator, an infrared ray and/or far infrared radiator, ionizer or negative ion generator, and heater may be provided in the mattress. The arrangement and type of stones chosen may preferably be based on their mineral characteristics in enhancing the emission and distribution of the low frequency electromagnetic waves, infrared ray and/or far infrared rays, negative ions.
