A dual view display device and a method for driving the same are provided to minimize the reduction of image quality by converting display data based on adjacent pixel data using a rendering scheme. A dual view display device includes a data rendering unit(12), a timing controller(14), a display panel(16), and a mask filter. The data rendering unit converts first and second display data using adjacent non-display data, and outputs alternately the converted first and second display data. The timing controller arranges the first and second display data from the data rendering unit and outputs the arranged result. The display panel displays the first and second display data from the timing controller in first and second pixels, respectively. The mask filter displays the first and second images, which are displayed in the first and second pixels, in first and second view angle areas, respectively.
