A method for producing scagliola by using an environment-friendly composition composed of 100% minerals is provided to improve acid resistance, flame resistance, and water resistance of the scagliola. A method for producing scagliola includes the steps of: preparing scagliola composition that consists of 50-83wt% of silicon dioxide, 10-30wt% of aluminum oxide, 2-10wt% of calcium oxide, and 5-10wt% of KNaO which are in powder form; putting the composition into a mold; melting the composition at 1300-1500deg.C for 3-6 hours; drying the molten composition; and forming the molten composition into a scagliola plate. Thusly obtained scagliola has an extremely low moisture absorption, so it is most desirable for use in bathroom or kitchen.
