Provided is a glass substrate for the reflecting mirror of a rear projection TV (RPTV), which assures the display quality by a quantitative management and which can reduce the costs of management and manufacture. The rear projection TV (RPTV) has a reflecting mirror (3) including a float glass plate (or a glass substrate) (1) formed to have a thickness of 3 mm by a float method, and an augmented reflecting film (2) formed of aluminum (Al) on one surface (1a) of the glass substrate (1) by a sputtering method. In the measuring conditions of a cut-off value of 0.8 to 8 mm, a filtered undulating curve has the maximum amplitude of 0.1 µm or less, a visibility index ? (= A/D³) in a spatial frequency of 2 to 500/mm by a spectral analysis of the filtered undulating curve has the maximum of 0.02 (/m²), and the visibility index ? has an integrated value of 2.0 (/m³) or less.
