A method and an apparatus for controlling fusing temperature, and an image forming apparatus are provided to supply power to a heater lamp with on/off chopping rates, increased than an interval where temperature of heat rollers ascends, in an interval where the temperature of the heating rollers descends, thereby preventing deterioration of adhesion during initial printing after cold start of a fuser. In a method for controlling fusing temperature in a fuser including a heat roller for transferring heat to a toner image formed on a print medium and including a heat source installed within the heat roller and receiving power, the method comprises the following steps. Through on/off chopping rates designated according to temperature of the heat roller in an interval where the temperature of the heat roller ascends, power is supplied to the heat source(765,775,785). Through on/off chopping rates respectively increased than the above on/off chopping rates as much as a predetermined size in an interval where the temperature of the heat roller descends, power is supplied to the heat source(720,730,740,750). |
