A data communication apparatus which can be obtained at a low cost comprises: a data transmitting section having transmission data storage means and a data transmitting means; and a data receiving section having a received data storage means and a data receiving means. The apparatus is located between a plurality of central processing units, and performs data communication between the central processing units via transmission lines. The apparatus can transmit a set of meaningful data groups supplied by the central processing units at a constant interval without causing a data division, cause the central processing units to read the transmission data, and supply the set of meaningful data groups received at the constant interval to the central processing units at a high speed without causing a data division.
