A device and a method for managing meter data of a measuring instrument are provided to prevent meter data from being lost due to a sudden reset operation or the shortage of power by executing a reset operation after backing up pulse count data stored in an SRAM(Static Random Access Memory), in an EEPROM(Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory). A meter data management device for counting and storing pulse data transmitted from a measuring instrument(10) is composed of a volatile memory(22) counting the pulse data transmitted from the measuring instrument by a unit of specific designated time and cumulating and storing the pulse data; a non-volatile memory(24) backing up the pulse count data cumulated in the volatile memory, every specific storing period and backing up the pulse count data of the volatile memory in resetting the corresponding device; a key input unit(14) inputting reset keys for resetting the corresponding device; and a control unit(16) holding a back reset interrupt in inputting the reset keys through the key input unit, backing up the pulse count data stored in the volatile memory, in the non-volatile memory even if a specific storing period does not elapse, and then executing a rest operation. |
