A component concentration control device for monitoring the component concentration of stain solution containing at least iodine and potassium iodide as components to control the component concentrations to constant. The conductivity and absorbance of stain solution L stored in a coloring tank (11) and a conditioning tank (12) are determined by a conductivity sensor (31) and an absorbance sensor (32) respectively. A microcomputer (33) computes the concentrations of iodine and potassium iodide in the stain solution L from the determined conductivity and absorbance, and computes the deviations of these concentrations from respective specified control values for monitoring by a monitor (37). In addition, the microcomputer (33) generates a control output for controlling the supply amounts of iodine and potassium iodide from supply tanks (21-23) to the conditioning tank (12) so as to reduce the deviations from the respective control values.
