SPECIAL EFFECT IMAGING DEVICE AND SPECIAL EFFECT IMAGING METHOD

A special effect imaging device is provided to realize an illumination effect corresponding to various special effect images even in the case that illumination effect patterns are not determined in advance and that shapes on an effect plane are quickly changed. An illumination effect by light from a light source seen in the case of an arbitrary viewpoint in a plane with a curved surface is added to image information with respect to an input image of the special effect imaging device (100) while the special effect imaging device outputs a video signal obtained from mapping of the image information on the plane. The special effect imaging device includes a normal vector generating unit (110) for generating a normal vector in a position of a plane based on orthogonal coordinates data and a shape of the plane, wherein calculation for an equation A(2(L N)N-2L) V of the normal vector, a unit vector in a direction of the light source, a viewpoint vector (V) and an arbitrary value (A) generates reflectance of the light in a direction of the viewpoint and makes out the image information based on the image and the reflectance.
