An elevator group management controller comprises a parameter computing section (13) for determining a weight coefficient w<SUB>4</SUB> of an evaluation item computed from the travel distance predicted by a prediction computing section (12) in consideration of the relation between the travel distances of the elevators and the average waiting time of the persons wanting to use elevators and an evaluation computing section (14) for computing total evaluation values J(i) from the evaluation item of the waiting times of the persons, the evaluation item of the travel distances, and the weight coefficient w<SUB>4</SUB> determined by the parameter computing section (13). The elevator having the best total evaluation value J(i) is selected from the elevators, and a landing call is allocated to the elevator.
