An IM(Instant Messenger)-based interactive PIM(Personal Information Management) system and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to use personal information through an IM without installing any software and a service regardless of environment of an IM client installed to a mobile terminal or a PC, and enable the user to use the information naturally by managing the information interactively. An IM client is used for connecting to an IM service by the user. The IM service relays chatting among the user. A PIM agent makes the chat with the user by getting to be a virtual user.
