A method of controlling louvers of an air conditioner is provided to rapidly cool a room and to prevent discharged cool air from immediately sucked back into an air intake port and cause a sensor to inaccurately detect the room temperature which may prematurely terminate the rapid cooling mode by changing the positions of the louvers from pointing downward to point horizontally, and then to point upward after a preset time has elapsed for each of the positions. A method of controlling louvers of an air conditioner comprises the steps of: outputting a control signal by a control unit to set the positions of the louvers according to a signal inputted by a user for setting the positions of the louvers if such a signal is detected by the control unit, and increasing the airflow by turning a blower fan to a maximum speed(S220); positioning a first position of the louvers to be inclined and pointed toward lower directions than a second position, and positioning a third position of the louvers to be inclined and pointed upward than the second position(S230,S260,S290); and sequentially changing the positions of the louvers from pointing downward to point horizontally, and then positioning the louvers to point upward after a preset time has elapsed for each of the positions.
|
