A radio transmission apparatus and a guard interval insertion method are provided to prevent a receiving characteristic from being deteriorated by controlling an insertion section of a guard interval to locate a data block in a time interval except a signal attenuation section. A radio transmission apparatus includes a guard interval insertion unit(16), a waveform rectifying unit, and a control unit. The guard interval insertion unit inserts a guard interval which copies a part of a corresponding data block sequentially per a predetermined data block for a transmission data signal. The waveform rectifying unit performs a signal attenuation process in a predetermined time section having a signal block border after the guard interval insertion. The control unit controls an insertion section of the guard interval by the guard interval insertion unit, so the data block is located in the time section except the time section of the signal attenuation section.
