A dental kit (100a-100d) includes various pre-packaged components for use in placing a dental post in a prepared recess (e.g., root canal) of a person's tooth. In one aspect, the dental kit (100a-100d) includes a finishing drill (102) and a permanent dental post (104) of corresponding size, both of which include a visual code that identifies their size. In another aspect, the dental kit further includes (i) one or more of a dental post analog (108) used to test the size of the prepared recess prior to inserting a permanent dental post (104) therein and/or (ii) a starter drill (106) in addition to the finishing drill (102). A kit (10) of dental sub-kits (100a-100d) includes a plurality of dental kits (100a-100d) that include components of differing size and that have a visual code that identifies the respective sizes of the components of individual sub-kits (100a-100d). |
