A system and a method for testing a subscriber call communication function in a BcN(Broadband convergence Network) are provided to page a test call without ringing an incoming bell sound by using a destination terminal(general phone subscriber) in an idle state. When a test call using a particular test number is received, a soft switch(100) searches a test-target termination access gateway(220) that accommodates a subscriber telephone exchange number of the test number and an idle terminal accommodated in the test-target access gateway(220), controls a test call set-up to the idle terminal, and instructs transmission of a test tone when the test call connection is completed. An origination access gateway(210) collects the test number from an origination terminal and transfers it to the soft switch(100). The termination access gateway(220) performs a test call connection to the idle terminal under the control of the soft switch(100), and when the test call is connected, the termination access gateway(220) transmits a pre-set test tone to the origination access gateway(210) according to the test tone transmission instruction.
