A method for efficiently receiving broadcasting data in a DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) receiving terminal and the DVB-H receiving terminal therefor are provided to receive ESG(Electronic Service Guide) data broadcasted from a DVB-H transmitting server selectively and improve a receiving speed by selectively receiving ESG data. A digital broadcasting receiving unit receives table information configured as information about the transmission of a plurality of container in which ESG data are loaded(400,410). A memory accumulates and stores information about a container received whenever the container in which the ESG data are loaded is received(420,430). The control unit compares the table information with the accumulated container information(440). When the table information is different from the accumulated container information, the control unit receives a received container(470).
