The contacting unit includes a fine-meshed conductor path structure with a continuous conductor path (9), where the conductor path structure is formed from a conductor path foil by mutually overlapping sections. The overlapping sections include conductor path ends electrically interconnected to form the conductor path. A pocket side forms a bottom (8) of the reader with a recess (10) for contacting the contacting unit.
