An LCD panel(102) displays an image. A light emitting diode(116) generates light supplied to the LCD panel. The light emitting diode is mounted on a light source substrate(118). The light source substrate is attached to a light guide plate(124) with its incident surface facing the light emitting diode. The light guide plate is mounted on a mold frame(114). A fixing protrusion(122) protrudes on a surface of the light guide plate opposite to the incident surface of the light guide plate. A fixing groove(120) is formed in the mold frame, and the fixing protrusion is inserted in the fixing grove. At least one side of the fixing protrusion is inclined at an acute angle with respect to an inner surface of the mold frame.
