A surgical drape for use in tracheostomy procedures has a main opaque body region 1 and a transparent region 2 arranged to extend over the head of the patient. An incise aperture 12 is formed in the body region 1 close to the transparent head region 2 for providing access to the throat. An adhesive border 13 around the patient side of the aperture 12 enables the drape to be secured to the skin around the tracheostomy. A perforated tear line 15 may extend laterally from the aperture 12 to the edge of the drape to enable the drape to be torn easily so that it can be removed from around any tubing projecting through the aperture. Preferably the main region 1 is of woven, water-repellent material and the transparent region 2 is polyethylene. |
