The method and the assembly are for cleaning a pipe conduit (2) and involve coupling of a cleaning device with the end of a pipe or pipe extent (36) and then the displacement of the pipe extent in the conduit from a first conduit aperture to a location at a distance from it, whereby the pipe extent end is at the location. In another direction opposed to the first the pipe extent is displaced in the conduit and the cleaning devie (40,42,44,46) is moved from that location to the first conduit aperture. At that location, a second conduit aperture can be created, whereby the cleaning device, at the location of the second conduit aperture can be coupled with the pipe extent extending between the first and second conduit apertures. The pipe extent during at least a part of the movement in the second direction is rotated in order to rotate at least a part of the cleaning device around a longitudinal axis of the conduit.
