METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDOVER USING HANDOVER HISTORY

A handover method using a handover history and an apparatus for the same are provided to minimize a delay time due to access point scanning by storing previously executed handover patterns in a handover history and scanning a certain channel first. In case a mobile station moves from the network of the first access point to the network of the second access point, the mobile station scans the second access point through a specific channel according to a handover history which stores past handover patterns(400). The mobile station is associated with the second access point according to a scanning result(410). The mobile station updates the handover history according to a handover execution result(420).
