SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGEMENTING THE SUPPLEMENT INFORMATION OF MP3 MUSIC FILES STORED IN MEDIA PLAYER

A system for managing additional information of an MP3 music file kept at a media reproducing terminal, and a method thereof are provided to remove the need of sending all media file data by receiving and sending a media file list and ID3 tag information which are required to correct the ID3 tag information between the media reproducing terminal and a personal computer. In a system for managing additional information of an MP3 music file kept at a media reproducing terminal comprises a media reproducing terminal(200) sends ID3 tag information about each file, with a generated media file list after generating the media file list when the media file list is requested, and changes the existing ID3 tag information into applicable correction-requested ID3 tag information when requesting correction of the ID3 tag information. An external device(210) requires a media file list to the media reproducing terminal when there is an input for correcting the ID3 tag information, displays the received media file list on a screen when receiving the media file list, and requests the correction of the ID3 tag information of the applicable file to the media reproducing terminal after displaying the ID3 tag information for the selected file on the screen when the ID3 tag information is corrected by a user.
